Contrary to our understanding of memory, if we suppose that all associations were symmetric, how would this change the internal associations and observed behaviors made by the dogs in Pavlov’s experiment? Would only having symmetric associations distort our sense of causality? Would this be helpful or harmful in our everyday lives?
